GTA:SA x DYOM

FILMMAKING & CINEMATICS WEBPAGE

THE HOME OF MY HOME-MADE CINEMATICS
WITH THE USE OF THE VIDEO GAME AND THE MOD,
GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS and DESIGN YOUR OWN MISSION
WHAT IS DYOM?

According to the official website, it is a mod for GTA: San Andreas and this allows you to create missions in-game without writing a single line of SCM script, and also, you are even able to distribute them to other people.

HOW, WHEN, AND WHY DO I START MAKING?

I discovered it in December 2016, and I'm glad that I had a game on my laptop, GTA: San Andreas, which I got (copied) from the very low-end PCs from Pisonet (Insert One-Peso Coin) Internet Café, so I could put the mod there and try.

In December 2016, I practiced using it by creating simple missions and luckily, as of the 12th of January 2023, those were still present on my computer. Cinematic things were not on my mind back then.

In March 2017, it was a month before semi-graduation (I call it the moving-up ceremony to Senior High School). It was afternoon, there was an unexpected school project that I didn't know they already had started, and that project was a Musical Play.

The reason is, I went home quickly because I hadn't eaten lunch and I was afraid that it might trigger my migraine from hunger.

When I was home and went to the internet café, I was upset when I saw my classmates posting their pictures on social media doing their musical play without me knowing. I was shocked because all I knew was that they had not yet announced that we had to do the project in that day.

If I remember correctly, no one ever messaged me why I was not included in the project.

I almost had no grades for the subject because I already found a way.

I had a software program called MikuMikuDance and also discovered Vocaloid in late January 2017. I tried doing animation in MikuMikuDance without any knowledge of animation.

I went multi-tasking.

I also did the music. I was searching for some MIDI files on my laptop computer and I found and picked Close to You by The Carpenters and my music composition titled As Cold Wind Blows.

I also had a software program called Vocaloid4 Editor and the Vocaloid Voicebank of Miku Hatsune, Gumi, Cyber Diva, and Cyber Songman. So, I applied the song with Vocaloid.

If I remember correctly, I only have two (2) days left for me to submit the solo project.

The progress on my animation was only like ten (10) seconds in total under two (2) hours.

So, I skipped and tried to find another way.

I remember that I have GTA: San Andreas with DYOM mod on it and I was thinking that there's an interesting feature called Cutscenes. So, I have started experimenting with that feature.

This is the result:

However, the day after I submitted this project, my teacher wanted to talk about my project in his faculty room. He stated that the video or cinematic I made was not what he expected, Musical Play said that it does have lip-synching and should be made in real life.

He requested me to recreate the project, but there are a few days the school year is about to end, and I have no choice but this is still the way I'm going to create.

My other idea was like a drama but I'm going to do voice acting to it. I tried to do voice acting but not that good, so I skipped this and tried another way which is to have dialogues.

I re-applied my original composition from the first then added to this cinematic but modified it a bit.

This is the result:

To be honest, I did not write a script for this before production, you may notice my grammar errors and I cannot check them online because back then, we had no home internet until 2019. I just go out and head to the internet cafés but costs too much.

It was April of 2017my 4th Year of Junior High School was ended, and I was still gaining more interest in making cinematics.

A few days later back then, I went to Internet Café to download some mods for GTA: San Andreas for my cinematic project.

The most interesting thing to do is write a story in the form of a script.

The history is I did this for the first time way back around 2006 to 2008 when my mother and I were in Makati City, I remember the time when I borrowed my mother's phone and tried messing up the messaging app.

In 2009, still, I always borrowed my mother's phone and tried to do MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) and write stories about how we met my cousin's step(?)father, my English was based on what I learned by watching cartoons.

In 2010, I was at the school when I was in 4th Grade Elementary, the first time trying to write a story script in my notebook.

In April 2013, came back using a phone but with a QWERTY keyboard. This is the time when I finished three story scripts. Still, my English is based on what I learned watching television, not just cartoons.

From April to May 2014, the year I owned a smartphone for the first time, which is the SAMSUNG Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300, very small but enjoyable, I finished somewhat two (2) to three (3) story scripts, some were corrupted and some were rewritten. Sadly, all of them were deleted for unremembered reasons.

In May 2016, an unknown day, was the month when I titled Two Survival for the first time, two (2) story scripts were finished and still present as of the 12th of January 2024, except the first was lost or deleted. My English was almost improved.

But in April 2017, I rewrote the first Two Survival and finished it, and still present on my computer. Then a few days later, I created another music composition or a soundtrack for my next cinematic. While in progress, I've created a poster:

It was retitled Two Survival: San Fierro's Storm and is an action and drama film.

Unfortunately, the production of this solo film project was discontinued in June 2017 because of a loss of interest and lack of storage device, and the time when my 1st Year or 11th Grade of Senior High School started. I began sharing this story script on my Wattpad, however, I deleted it around 2019 for rewriting.

And it is in the progress of rewriting.

Stay tuned 💚
